High costs and rigid HR systems made it difficult for small to medium businesses to find tailored solutions. Facing the same issue, DSS Corp's CEO initiated the design and development of an in-house HRMS to streamline operations effectively.

Designed with local compliance in mind, DSS HR automates country-specific tax processes, drastically reducing HR teams' time and effort on manual tax documents and ledger preparation. This feature ensures accuracy and saves valuable resources for companies like DSS Corp.

Streamline employee management with detailed profiles that consolidate all employment-related data and workflows. From onboarding to promotions, the system simplifies internal operations for businesses with team sizes ranging from 11 to 50.

DSS HR simplifies payroll processing by automatically generating detailed payslips every month on an admin-defined date. These payslips account for factors like leave, overtime, and deductions, ensuring accuracy and consistency so the HR team can execute payroll efficiently and error-free.

What I’d Do Differently Next Time

Working on DSS HR was both rewarding and challenging. The dual vision of streamlining internal operations and paving the way for a future SaaS product was ambitious. Reflecting on the journey, here’s what I’d do differently:

1. Expand User Testing
Involving external HR professionals could have enriched insights and improved usability.

2. Create “Wow” Moments
With more time, I’d refine aesthetics and flows to make the experience both efficient and delightful.

3. Foster Broader Collaboration
Engaging diverse teams could have positioned the product for a wider audience.

4. Think Beyond Immediate Needs
Balancing operational goals with a forward-looking SaaS vision could have unlocked greater potential.

This experience honed my ability to adapt and prioritize, reinforcing my commitment to continuous improvement.
